Abstract

Scientific and technological developments, genetic testing and digitalization - all this naturally leads to an improvement in the quality of human life. In accordance with Government Resolution No. 479 of April 22, 2019 “On approval of the Federal Scientific and Technical Program for the Development of Genetic Technologies for 2019 - 2027,” the development of genetic technologies to improve the quality of human life and effectively reduce losses from diseases is one of the key development goals government programs. The sphere of labor relations is no exception, in which effective forecasting and planning of results has recently begun to be determined by a new determinant - the genetic indicators of workers. First of all, this applies to athletes in the field of high performance sports. Correlations between certain human genotypes and physical, mental and psychological characteristics have been identified. However, to date, all areas of labor relations in which knowledge about the genetic characteristics of workers could be applied are not sufficiently obvious. These include, first of all, the field of labor protection and safety in the workplace. On the one hand, workers in the context of personalized medicine can receive more effective preventive measures to avoid accidents. On the other hand, in those areas of work where the activities of workers pose an increased danger to others (pilots, dispatchers, drivers of ground, underground, water vehicles), possible negative consequences could be avoided by introducing a mandatory procedure for genetic screening of applicants during employment, as well as during periodic medical examinations, in order to identify genetic indicators that cause the occurrence or development of mental illnesses. At the same time, the use of information about the genetic indicators of workers should be carried out without deviating from the paradigm of constitutional protection of labor rights and freedoms of workers.
